(get ready for an extra-large post)
We were so LUCKY to have Jason's sister and her family closeby for 4 weeks of the summer. Amber and her husband, Spencer and their CUTE kids, Logan and Addy, were here for work and staying in a hotel just 30 minutes away. Even their friend, Armando came from Utah for a few days. We got to spend lots of time together...which is a good thing since they are normally across the country on the east coast and we miss them all the time. It was so FUN for the kids to get to know each other better and for me to have a good friend to HANG OUT with and we all loved having a cute BABY to hold. It gave us a little glimpse at what it would be like to have family closeby. We did so many things...but here are a few of our FAVORITES...
LOGAN's favorite thing was swimming all day, practically every day. He inspired Ben
to actually get wet and he showed no fear jumping and diving and splashing around.
He was such a little man in his goggles.

BEN's all-time favorite thing was playing with baby Addy. He loved her and was
so sweet and gentle with his cute, new cousin. While she mostly cried for me,
she always smiled and cooed for Benny.

EMILY's favorite thing was eating Popsicles after a short hike through the Muir Woods.
She did not want a thing to do with the stroller...she wanted to be one of the "big" kids.
Armando came for a visit and was so good to put up with us for the weekend.

Of course NATE's favorite thing was anything XBOX or Nintendo DS...
I like to claim ignorance to all that kind of stuff, but must confess
no one was twisting my arm to try Dr. Mario and Brain Age
...even Emily got in on the action.
ADDY's favorite thing was sleeping...especially on Grandma Asay's silkie blanket.
A few other FAVORITES included...
...a trip to Yahoo! for the drinks, ping pong, and foos ball.
...the Golden Gate Bridge (Ben asks why it's called "golden" when it's really reddish orange.)
...pizza and playing "Ticket to Ride" - my new favorite board game.
...a trip to the beach and the Children's Museum and Zoo
...Chips-n-Salsa, York Peppermint Patties, Stacks potato chips, Costco fruit leather

Darling pictures and record of such a great time. I'm only "big time" jealous!! Hi Amber - what a darling baby girl you've got!! Logan's cute too. Glad you got to enjoy the Janet and Jason Asay bunch for the month!!! Wish we would have been there too!!! Mom in Finland

I wish we lived closer. We live in Texas now! It is pretty wild down here.
Oh we love you too!!! Man this post made me cry I am missing you all so much.....we are all missing you guys. We sure did have a lot of fun. Thanks for being so willing to come and get us and play all night long and eat treats, drink our favorites, and make lots of great memories. Wish we lived closer all the time. You have so many great pictures I need to get them from you!
P.S. Tell your mom hi and I wish she could have been with us too. ALso Logan asks about his cousins everyday!!!
I just showed Logan the pictures and he loved them all but you need to tell Jason that Logan saw the picture of him on the raft and he said oh I was riding on "that guy"....it was fun. Anyhow so funny what a great "that guy" you are!
Janet, so fun to have Amber and the kids in town for awhile. Crazy how time flies and we all move on and have kids. I still pictures us playing the dating game and participating in the ward talent show as single adults. Crazy!
Janet, these pictures were so fun! Thank you for helping those of us, especially us gramma's, who are far away to feel a part of your lives and fun activities. Even though we are jealous and wish we could be there all the time, this is definitely next best--so keep up the great posts--we love them! Yes,even tho I'm so bad about commenting on them!
