HAPPY NEW YEAR!

(I know it's almost Valentine's Day, but I still haven't told you about New Year's Eve!)

Because my parents have good-naturedly created and endured some fabulous New Year's Eve parties, we felt the need to continue the tradition this year in their honor. And I must say, they would have been proud. There may not have been a chocolate fountain, but there was shrimp. And while we missed the cheeseball w/crackers, we loved the guacamole. And even without a disco ball, the chocolate milk was a perfect way to "toast" in the New Year.

The Taylors came over to help us celebrate and all the kids painted our New Year's banner, which eventually got destroyed, and then we ate and danced (sometime ask Nate and Holly about their break-dancing skills) and even tossed a few kids around...Holly wanted in on the action. The kids were all in bed by 8p.m. (what will we do when they can read a clock?) so we had lots of time to play games, countdown with Dick Clarke and then stay up too late watching a movie.

CHEERS!

This is the greatest!!! It's fun to see the party in action. Thanks! It is a fun tradition being carried on - we're smiling!!! in Finland Pretty smart to celebrate on NY time.

That looks so fun! Can we be invited next year?

I love the confetti and banner and all of your kid-centered festivities! You've given me some great ideas for the future!

Looks like a great way to ring in the new year - I love that your kids were in bed by 8 so you could enjoy a little time being adults! Cute pictures!

That looks like a great party! Wish we could have joined you! How in the world did you get ALL the kids in bed by 8 p.m.? That's awesome! Ben goes to bed at 6:30 but Nate's bedtime is much too late - I guess afternoon kindergarten allows that. Next year will have to be different.
