International Lunch

Ben wanted me to bring Macaroni and Cheese to the First Grade International Lunch at school. With kids from 20 different countries in 1st grade, I knew it would include everything from sushi to pot-stickers to enchiladas...nothing that Ben eats much. I wanted to take cookies, but he was sure I should make homemade macaroni and cheese. He calls it "grandma's famous macaroni and cheese" because he loves it so much and has it whenever we go to Grandma Gerri's. This is where I admit we like to eat it with ketchup....so gourmet.

I didn't know if this should be a parenting moment...where I explain that it's a little embarrassing to take macaroni and cheese to a potluck. Or if it should be a mothering moment...where Ben knows how much I love him and am happy to be a stay-at-home-mom because I will bring whatever he wants to a potluck.

That's our Macaroni and Cheese in between the fried rice and the California rolls...
...Ben was right and ours was the only empty bowl at the end of lunch.

Does it make it more "international" if you eat Macaroni and Cheese with chopsticks?

What would a post be without including Adam?
He likes to do that thing with his eyebrows.
