Eighteen Months

Let's freeze time at 18 months. Adam is charming and huggable,
opinionated and fantastic. He is messy, happy, climbing and curious.

We love it when he runs to the door every time he hears
Jason come home. With smiling eyes and arms stretched wide,
his scream let's us know he's ready to give big loves and kisses.

He doesn't say more than 5 real words, but he has perfected the

sound of a train's "choo-choo" and we all understand his grunts. I love it
when he holds my hand and pulls me with a "c-mon" to show
me what he needs...usually it's in the fridge.

Adam gets into everything and anything! He pulls tupper-ware
out of the cupboard, he brings me snacks he has found on the counter
or on the floor, he puts anything in the toilet, he climbs on every chair,
table, box, dollhouse, basket, bed or bin. But even as I type this, I smile
thinking about him being sneaky and making a mess in the other room.

Ever since Halloween, this boy has been obsessed with treats.
He would eat cookies for breakfast, licorice for dinner and smarties
all day in between. He humors me sometimes and eats what we make,
but it might take till next year for him to get over his sugar high.

Adam has two small, blue blankets he likes to sleep with. Sometimes when
it's cold I'll sneak in and cover him with another heavier blanket after he's
fallen asleep. But without fail, he wakes up crying until I get rid of the extra
blanket and leave him alone in his crib with his two little favorites.

We all dance when Adam dances. He wiggles in his car-seat and around
the kitchen table. It's adorable when he shakes his booty and flaps his arms.

Not a day goes by without someone mentioning how light his hair is
or how fair his skin. What that really means is that all the bumps and
bruises from his climbing accidents (see above) are easy to see.

Oh how we love this boy!

Every once-in-awhile he tricks us into wishing we had
one hundred twinkly-eyed babies to hug...but for now these
18 months have given us more than we could ever dream of.

He is adorable! I want to just smother him with kisses. Wish we lived closer...still trying to figure that out:)

I've decided that 4th babies are just special! I haven't found a blog yet where moms aren't oohing and ahhing over the 4th child. Maybe we finally really appreciate the craziness and quickness of it all.
