The photos don't really do it justice, but we might not ever be able to top Ben's 8th birthday celebration. This year we were in Albuquerque, so he was surrounded by cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles. He broke open a pinata, had pizza and strawberry shortcake and he even got to ride in a hot air balloon (tethered to the ground, but still cool.) In case he ever feels like a "middle child", all the attention he got on this birthday made up for it. He felt special and happy and loved...as he should.
